Tony Hawk, Crash Bandicoot, And Multiple COD Games Reportedly In Development At Activision

That's... a lot of COD.

Activision has some pretty exciting things in store over the next year or so, if a new report is to be believed. The publisher is allegedly developing new entries in some of most popular franchises, including Call Of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. There's no word on a new Pitfall yet, but I live in hope.

While an annual release for Call Of Duty is obviously a given, YouTuber TheGamingRevolution claims Activision has multiple COD games planned. In addition to the standard 2020 release which is being developed by Treyarch, we can apparently expect another free-to-play Call Of Duty game from WWII developer Sledgehammer.

There's also talk of a sequel to the 2019's Modern Warfare reboot (which will probably arrive in 2021), and a remaster of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I know how you guys love 2009's Modern Warfare 2.

Interestingly, this isn't actually the first we've heard of a Modern Warfare 2 remaster. Earlier this month, a Call Of Duty leaker with a proven track record claimed that Treyarch's 2020 Call Of Duty would likely release alongside a remastered Modern Warfare 2. I'm not A sequel to last year's Modern Warfare also seems pretty likely, given how well the reboot sold.

If Call Of Duty isn't really your cup of tea, how about Crash Bandicoot? According to TheGamingRevolution, we're getting two Crash Bandicoot games. One is apparently is a PvP-style game, which I guess could be a new or remastered Crash Bash? The other, weirdly enough, is supposed to be a remaster of 2001's Wrath of Cortex. I don't know that anyone was crying out for that one... were they?

It's clear Activision has plans for Crash Bandicoot now that the critter has proven himself profitable. We've seen some pretty damning evidence that an endless runner mobile game is in development, but I'm less sure about these latest claims. Surely it's time we got a brand-new game for Crash? Stop with the remasters.

With that said, one particularly welcome remaster or remake would be for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. TheGamingRevolution claims that just such a remaster is in the works - and they're far from the first to make such a claim. Rumours that the classic skateboarding franchise is making a return have swirled for months now, and it's starting to look like it's actually, finally happening.

Most recently, punk band Death Set claimed to have just agreed to license a bunch of songs for the new Tony Hawk game... but there's every chance that they were already aware of the rumours and decided to screw with everyone.

As always, I'd take these rumours with a pinch of salt until we get official word. If these games are legit, they're all expected to arrive in 2020/2021, so I'd imagine we'll be learning more about them at whatever venue or livestream event Activision chooses in lieu of the recently cancelled E3 2020.
