Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer was unveiled this week, we recently went hands-on with the multiplayer portion of the game and have all the juicy details to share with you.

Treyarch & Raven's upcoming title features a whole host of new features and modes. One of those new modes is Combined Arms, which puts you in an intense battle and introduces vehicular mayhem into the mix. During my time with the game we had the pleasure of experiencing this mode on a map called Armada. As the map name and the gameplay shows, this map is set in the middle of the ocean, which is certainly an interesting locale for a multiplayer map.

I mean, Call of Duty fans loved Hijacked from Call of Duty: Black Ops II so perhaps Treyarch decided to take that love to another level by incorporating a few more vessels into the mix. The map contains five ships of varying sizes, with the initial spawns being on either side of the map. Players can traverse the map using zip lines from boat-to-boat or they can hitch a ride on a jet-ski to rush to the objective or perhaps a gunboat to lay down some suppressing fire with the powerful on-board mini-gun.

The overall map is quite impressive, whilst most of the combat is focused on the large ship in the middle you can still find yourself in some interesting engagements in the surrounding areas. Some of the objectives are craftily placed to encourage players to venture out. The central ship is split into three lanes with the command bridge in the middle overlooking the middle and connecting the two together.

Armada certainly is a sight to behold when you first load in, I'd definitely recommend taking a trip around the map to appreciate all the sights it has to offer. Rumour has it that there's even a couple of sharks lurking in the depths of the North Atlantic Ocean. Whether that rumour is true or not we'll have to wait a little longer to find out.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on November 13th on Xbox One, PS4 & PC (Battle.net) and will launch on next-gen consoles (Xbox Series X & PlayStation 5) subject to their respective release date.
