Zack Snyder has been incredibly busy in recent months. Not only were we all enamoured with the release of the Snyder Cut of Justice League, but the director is also about to release Army of the Dead on Netflix on May 21. With all the action movies he's been involved with this year and his heavy involvement with nerd culture in general, we couldn't help but ask if he had any interest in working in games. And the answer is yes - Zack Snyder would love to work on a game.

Speaking to GAMINGbible about the influences for Army of the Dead , it was mentioned that zombie game Dead Rising feels quite similar to Army of the Dead and how the two could have shared a universe. Snyder responds, "It's a mission film, you know? And so, I think that aspect of it is a big part of it. And also hat we had to create a scenario where the zombies were contained, and you have to cross a threshold into their land if you will."

You can watch the segment of interview with Zack Snyder below:

The interview goes on to discuss if he, as a director or writer would like to get involved in making a game himself. He says "There was a time when we really talked about developing a game, very specifically writing it and sort of art-directing it and show running it as best I could, developing it all the way. And I still do, I would love to make a game."

Snyder continues, "I always had this real fantasy to make a top-level game and a movie that came out at exactly the same time. Not just a game that supports the movies and not a movie that supports the game, but an intertwined universe where you could learn things about the movie in the game and you could learn things about the game in the movie. They would be intertwined in this really sophisticated way that I really think hasn't been done exactly perfectly."

When asked if he could give any more details about a project like that, Snyder said he doesn't have any specifics right now, but it would be a thing he would be "very interested in trying to pull off". Wow, doesn't that sound like it could be an awesome idea? There have, of course, been games and movies that have worked together before, a bit like the Ratchet and Clank movie which accompanied the 2016 game from Insomniac. Additionally, we've seen a lot of movies based on games like the upcoming Uncharted film starring Tom Holland, and even series like The Witcher starring Henry Cavill.

However, what Snyder seems to be talking about is bigger and more expansive than any of these projects. It would be such fun to see how he'd interpret a gaming world in a movie and vice versa, but it seems no plans for such an experiment are set. In the meantime, Snyder's new film Army of the Dead is coming to Netflix on May 21, and it looks wild. You can watch the trailer for the zombie flick here.
