GTA 6 Jason actor drops Vice City tease

GTA VI Jason actor has seemingly confirmed himself with an apparent Vice City tease.

It’s another day, which means it's another day of the forever-spinning Grand Theft Auto VI rumour mill. It’s been well over a year now since Rockstar Games announced that it was working on the next entry in the series, but we’re no closer to knowing anything official about the highly anticipated title.

All we’ve had to rely on is unconfirmed speculation including very early pieces of alpha gameplay footage. At this point, we don’t know officially when GTA VI will release, nor do we know the story details or which platforms it will launch on.

However, it’s been heavily rumoured that GTA VI will not only take us back to the Miami-inspired Vice City, the location of the 2002 classic but also Mexico and regions of South America. It’s also been speculated that GTA VI will feature two playable male and female characters named Jason and Lucia, inspired by the infamous crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde.

The latter of which brings us to today’s story. In an article shared on Reddit via autoevolution.com, an Instagram post shared by the rumoured voice actor of the character Jason has sparked a surge of excitement from fans eagerly awaiting news from the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

The Instagram post in question is from actor Bryan Zampella. The post features Zampella (no relation to the Respawn Entertainment CEO, Vince) wearing a Hawaiian shirt, lounging in the sun with gloriously blue skies and palm trees in the background.

The image looks very deliberate to spark engagement and many are wondering whether the actor is teasing a GTA VI announcement. “Bryan Zampella (GTA VI Jason actor) is in Miami and hadn’t posted in months till today… GTA VI news soon?” posted by Reddit user hushpolocaps69.

“He’s wearing a Hawaiian shirt, the recent Take-Two Interactive supposed deal, and the fact that the PlayStation Showcase is around the corner?! Woooooo weeeee this is going to be nuts!”

I believe that this Reddit user is being very optimistic. For starters, Zampella might just be leaning into the GTA VI speculation and has posted the photo to garner more social media followers. It’s also worth keeping in mind that Zampella hasn't even been confirmed to star in GTA VI, yet.

What’s more, I’d be surprised if Rockstar Games would reveal a GTA VI trailer or release date at an upcoming PlayStation Showcase. Knowing how the developer works, it’s likely to shadow-drop information sending the internet into meltdown. That being said, I’m not saying a PlayStation Showcase reveal isn't impossible.

Hopefully, publisher Take-Two Interactive and developer Rockstar Games will reveal all in the coming months including details on the release date, gameplay and platforms. Sadly, however, it seems that GTA VI will not be a cross-platform title on PS4 or Xbox One.
