Harry Potter: All eight movies have just landed on Netflix

If you’re sitting there thinking, ‘I’m really overdue for a Harry Potter rewatch’ but don’t happen to own a copy of the Wizarding juggernaut, I have just the news for you.

The dawn of a new age of Harry Potter is almost upon us. As I’m sure you’ve now heard, Max (formerly HBO Max) recently unveiled that they’re rebooting Harry Potter in a “decade-long” TV project. Each season is set to adapt one of JK Rowling’s books, with Rowling serving as an executive producer - a fact that’s already resulted in threats of boycotting from fans. The series will feature a brand new cast, and rumours are already rife. In fact, it’s thought that one original cast member may return. It will certainly be weird to see a fresh take on sets and locations that so many of us are familiar with. If you simply want to enjoy the classics though, you can now courtesy of Netflix.

Netflix UK took to Twitter to announce that all eight films are joining the platform. The best part is that you don’t have to wait. The Harry Potter films are available to binge as of today. Yes, that means right now. I shouldn’t think I need to recap the series, but if you are new to the franchise, that includes: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Phoenix, The Half Blood Prince, The Deathly Hallows Part 1, and The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Which is your favourite? Personally, I can never decide. Growing up, I reckon I watched The Goblet of Fire more so than any other film. I was fascinated by the scale of The Triwizard Tournament, especially compared to what we’d seen before in the early days of the franchise. These days, I do have a particular penchant for The Chamber of Secrets’ nostalgia.

Arguably the biggest Wizarding World media on the planet right now is Hogwarts Legacy. The game recently launched on previous-gen consoles, announcing that sales earnings have surpassed $1 billion. It’s unsurprising then that players are already theorising about a possible sequel.
