Hideo Kojima Is Officially Teaming Up With Xbox On A New Exclusive Game

Hideo Kojima made an appearance during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase to make a major announcement.

Well, we all suspected that it might be coming. After months of rumours, we now know that Hideo Kojima’s next title will be an Xbox exclusive.

Unfortunately, details are a little thin on the ground at the moment. We just know that it’s happening. Kojima did tease that he was working on a “never before seen concept” and based on the originality of Death Stranding, we’re sure he’s cooking up something weird and wonderful.

Take a look below to see Hideo Kojima's full message. Surely, there's a cryptic clue hidden in there somewhere.

Tweeting about the collaboration, Xbox said, “Xbox Game Studios & Kojima Productions are partnering to create a video game for Xbox like no one has ever experienced before, leveraging the cloud. Hideo Kojima is one of the most innovative minds in our industry, and we can’t wait to share what our teams will create.”

Earlier this week, prominent leaker Tom Henderson claimed to have been sent footage from a Kojima horror game titled Overdose, but no mention was made on the existence of this during the showcase - despite Kojima Productions’ recent attempts to take Henderson’s claims down.

It’ll certainly be a disappointment to some Kojima fans after the visionary’s previous title, Death Stranding, was in fact a PlayStation exclusive. That being said, Norman Reedus did accidentally let slip that Death Stranding 2 was in development and we’d imagine that would come to PlayStation, although our eyes will firmly be kept on Kojima Productions for further details on all upcoming titles.
