Jonathan Majors dropped by talent agency following assault allegations

Marvel star Jonathan Majors has been dropped by his talent agency and public relations manager following his arrest last month.

Marvel star Jonathan Majors has ‘parted ways’ with his talent agency, Entertainment 360, after the actor was arrested on charges of assault and harassment in New York in late March.

An insider confirmed the news to Variety who also reported that Majors has been dropped by his public relations manager, the Lede Company. According to a source, Majors was dropped in March soon after the arrest. Neither Lede Company or Entertainment 360 have commented on the news.

The 33-year-old Majors was first arrested in Manhattan on 25 March and was charged with assault and harassment regarding a domestic dispute with a woman, aged 30. After attending a 911 call, police took Majors into custody. The female victim was reportedly sent to hospital for treatment relating to “minor injuries to her head and neck”, local authorities confirmed.

Shortly after the arrest, Majors’ legal team denied the allegations, adding that they would clear all of the charges. The actor’s criminal defence lawyer Prita Chaudhry previously said, “Mr. Majors completely denies assaulting the woman”. A series of text message screenshots were also released in support of Majors’ case. On 25 March, two written statements from the victim were allegedly recanted.

Despite this, Majors’ career continues to be affected. In recent months, the actor appeared in major projects like Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Insiders close to Marvel Studios have suggested that discussions are happening as to whether to replace Majors who portrays Kang in the MCU. Insider Jeff Sneider said, “Even though there hasn't been any movement on the Jonathan Majors front, I've heard that's the kind of actor, who, like, if Jonathan Majors got the boot as Kang, someone like Damson Idris is the type of the person that [Marvel] may look at to replace him if that, in fact, happens.”

At the time of writing, there is no official comment on the actor’s future in the franchise from Marvel.
