'Modern Warfare 2' Campaign Might Seal Ghost's Fate For A Second Time

Fans are worried about Ghost after a Modern Warfare II mission leaked online.

There’s certainly a ton of hype surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Activision have announced that the game’s beta weekend was officially the most successful beta in CoD history. Already, developers have outlined the changes coming to the game ahead of launch but in the meantime, fans are diving into some detective work. One of MWII’s game modes has leaked and fans are worried about Ghost’s fate … again.

Check out this incredible gameplay segment from Modern Warfare II below.

If you played 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, you’ll know that Ghost met a rather grisly end. It’s one of those tragic moments that, despite happening 13 years ago, it’s still too soon to talk about... but we’re going to have to. Fans are worried for the new Modern Warfare II’s Ghost and with good reason.

Dataminers have unearthed a mission called ‘Strike’ which will be based in Urzikstan and will see players take control of Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley. If you’re thinking, ‘I’ve never heard of Urzikstan,’ it’s a fictional place located in the Caucasus region. This is supposedly somewhere on the border near Russia and Georgia.

Sounding familiar yet? Ghost was infamously betrayed by General Shepard in the mission ‘Loose Ends’ which was also located in the Caucasus region. Fans reacted to the theory over on Reddit. Ulti-best-girl wrote, “Ah s**t, here we go again,” whilst berserkuh added, “F**k me. I ain’t ready.” Neither are we.
