'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' F1-Themed Map's Absence Has Fans Mystified

'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' F1-Themed Map's Absence Has Fans Mystified

Fans have been left confused after the Grand Prix map didn't show up in the Modern Warfare II beta.

Last weekend, PlayStation users got their first taste of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and it went down so well that many have been finding it difficult to go back to Warzone since. In particular, the new third-person field of view option has proved to be a hit - it makes quite the change from CoD’s usual first-person perspective.

Take a look at some third-person gameplay in action below.

However, as reported by Dot Esports, fans have been left a bit confused by the omission of a map, which was originally meant to be included in the beta. The one in question is the Grand Prix map, set in Singapore. Charlie INTEL tweeted: “It’s not clear what’s happened, but Activision has deleted all mentions of the ‘Grand Prix’ map for MWII. The overview video and more have been removed from all social media. The map was originally announced to be in the beta.”

As referenced in this Eurogamer report from August, a tweet from the Call of Duty Twitter account originally said that this map would be playable in the “2022 Beta”, but, indeed, it’s now been deleted. Currently, it’s not known why this is the case, as Infinity Ward and Activision are yet to comment. Hopefully, the reason will be shared soon.
