Naughty Dog Is Working On Three Games, Boss Teases

Naughty Dog Is Working On Three Games, Boss Teases

On Twitter, co-president Neil Druckmann posted a tease that's got fans wondering what the studio have in the works.

Hungry for more of The Last of Us? I sure hope you are. According to a new tweet posted by Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann, it seems that the dev team are currently working on three different projects, and let’s face it, we probably know what at least two of those are.

This tease wasn’t delivered in an exactly conventional manner, mind you. This actually all began on the back of the official Naughty Dog Twitter account posting a bunch of open positions at the company, ranging from programmers, to artists, to lighting and visual effects roles. That’s slightly beside the point, unless you’re personally looking for a cool new job, in which case, save this article for later and get on with that. I believe in you, reader.

We think that The Last of Us has one of gaming's best openings - check out our other picks in the video below.

Anyway, Druckmann himself decided to give these roles a bit of a promo, quote retweeting the post and writing: “We’re growing! Come join us and work on […],”, using three different emojis as cheeky censorships for the implied titles. Oh Druckmann, you tease.

Obviously, yes, this isn’t exactly official confirmation. In fact, maybe it could even be a way of tantalising people to apply for the jobs to find out the truth, which would certainly be an employment strategy. I doubt Naughty Dog is ever in short supply of enthusiastic applicants somehow, though.

We already know that the studio is currently working on a multiplayer mode for The Last of Us Part II, which is set to be an evolution of the Factions mode present in the first game. Otherwise, it’s also believed that a remake for The Last of Us is in the works, which really raises the question for how old a game should be before it’s even remotely considered in need of a remake, but anyway. As for a potential third project, though, it could be anything. You wouldn’t think that all three projects would be from the same series, but TLOU does do really well for them, so it wouldn’t be totally out of the way. Jak and Daxter revival, anyone?
