You'll Get A New Star Wars Game Every Six Months, Says Report

Disney has high hopes for the future of Star Wars video games, including releasing a new game every six months.

There are plenty of Star Wars games on the way, and that’s no accident. Perhaps most excitingly right now, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to release in 2023. The next instalment of Cal’s journey is due to take on a more “menacing tone,” plus fans already have a great theory about who Cal’s new bacta tank ally might be. Fans have had to wait four years for a sequel but Star Wars games will soon be releasing much more frequently.

Speaking of Star Wars, we sat down with Diego Luna to chat about Andor. Take a look below.

According to Insider Gaming, Disney now plans to release a new Star Wars game every six months. Sources report that Disney hopes to release one “major AAA title” and “one smaller game per fiscal year.” This would explain the fact that there are currently eight confirmed Star Wars titles in development.

In addition to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we’ve also got Skydance Media’s Amy Hennig created game, Respawn Entertainment’s untitled FPS, and Ubisoft’s untitled open world game. Let’s not forget Quantic Dream’s Star Wars: Eclipse, Zynga’s Star Wars: Hunters, and Respawn’s untitled strategy game. Rounding us out is Saber Interactive’s Knights Of The Old Republic Remake, which was previously being developed by Aspyr.

That’s not to mention all the rumoured games, as a game based on The Mandalorian is also thought to be in development. The takeaway here is, Star Wars fans will be feasting on video games for many years to come.
