The upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series is quite possibly my most anticipated show of 2022. Ewan McGregor is set to return as the bearded Jedi master in a follow-up to Revenge Of The Sith that promises to keep everything that worked about the prequels (the actors) while removing everything that didn’t work (everything else).
We already know that McGregor will be joined once again by Hayden Christensen, reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker, now in his first few years as the feared Darth Vader. Earlier this year, Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the former friends will once again meet for "the rematch of the century". Given that the pair’s last duel ended with Anakin losing most of his limbs and burning to a crisp, I’m sure he’s eager to chalk up a win. Let’s hope the high ground works for him this time around.
While we’ve yet to see Obi-Wan Kenobi in action, what appears to be concept art of the hotly awaited duel has surfaced online. The leaked images are said to have been taken from a sizzle reel which contained a few behind-the-scenes bits and bobs intended to get us even more excited for the Star Wars series. If these are the real deal, it’s definitely worked for me.

Take a look at the concept art for yourself below, which shows Obi-Wan and Darth Vader locked in deadly combat. It’s unclear where exactly they are, but the fiery background implies Obi-Wan could have headed to Mustafar - the site of their last duel and Vader’s current address. Or they could simply be in the middle of a battlefield, the city burning down around them. Either way, it promises to be properly epic.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will stream on Disney Plus in 2022.
