Original Scott Pilgrim cast confirmed to return for Netflix project

Original Scott Pilgrim cast confirmed to return for Netflix project

Scott Pilgrim is being adapted into an anime series for Netflix, and the original film cast are all coming back for it.

Oh my god, okay it’s happening. Everyone stay calm.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright has officially confirmed that an anime adaptation is on its way to Netflix, which would be exciting enough in itself. However, if that wasn’t enough, the original cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World are reprising their roles for it. What a throwback.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game recently re-released on modern platforms - take a look at the trailer below.

“This is not a drill! This is happening! After much musing over the years about there being potential for an anime adaptation of Scott Pilgrim, I’m thrilled to say one is IMMINENT, with the whole cast back together and… you are going to lose your minds,” Wright tweeted. “One of the proudest, most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim. Since the film’s release in 2010 we’ve done Q&As and charity read throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the gang on an actual project. Until now…”

So, going through the cast list, we have: Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim himself, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Satya Bhabha is Matthew Patel, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Brie Larson as Envy Adams, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Jason Schwartzman as Gideon Graves, Johnny Simmons as Young Neil, Mark Webber as Stephen Stills, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter, and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau.

Wright will be an executive producer on the series, alongside BenDavid Grabinski and Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. At the time of writing, no release window has been given for the series - Wright has simply said that it’s "imminent". Hopefully that means we won’t be waiting too long for a trailer.
