GTA 6 fans already convinced game will score 100 on Metacritic

GTA 6 fans already convinced game will score 100 on Metacritic

Will the new GTA 6 be the game that finally gets a perfect 100 score?

GTA VI fans are setting themselves up for one hell of a fall when the game launches, yet few seem to mind. Alongside all the hopeful wishing for certain features to be included, fans are now convinced the game will score big on Metracritic.

It’s not that such high praise is unlikely, but rather how rare it is for Metacritic to give a 100 score. But that’s not curbing fans’ optimism, with one fan asking whether GTA VI will be the Rockstar Games title that sets this precedent.

The OP believes “chances are really high” because the new GTA instalment will be “building off RDR2”, a game which scored a healthy and impressive 97. With gamers so sure that the upcoming GTA will be the “greatest game” of all time, such expectations leave little room for disappointment. Yet it's lurking, all the same.

Need we remind everyone of Starfield’s quick and sharp fall from grace…?

This unfounded certainty comes at a time when the fandom has been whipped up into a frenzy due to the GTA VI soundtrack leaking on Spotify; undoubtedly adding to the hype. With each new tidbit of information, even if it’s later proven to be false, the fandom is spiralling ever deeper into a quagmire of overzealous enthusiasm.

What do you think about GTA VI scoring 100? Maybe watching the trailer again will help you decide

But let’s not ignore the facts, one of which being that PlayStation 5 players will need to upgrade their console for the best experience. What is more, a lot of PC gamers will be left out in the cold when the game initially launches, leaving them with no other options than to wait or purchase a console.

For all the positives surrounding GTA VI, there are a lot of potential negatives being overlooked as the hype takes hold. Not that we want GTA VI to score less than 100 – we’re as hopeful as everyone else that this game goes as hard as we need it to. However, we’re also painfully aware of how easy games can fall flat.
