Megan Fox roasted over her Mortal Kombat 1 performance

Megan Fox roasted over her Mortal Kombat 1 performance

Megan Fox has joined the Mortal Kombat universe with her role as Nitari, though her performance is being roasted online.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and PC platforms, and while most are loving the game so far, others are ripping it apart like a new fatality move, with many setting their sights on Megan Fox.

Check out Mortal Kombat 1 below.

If you weren’t aware, Fox stars in the game as the vampiric warrior Nitara, a returning character from previous Mortal Kombat games. Appearing during the main story, and obviously being a playable character, Fox recorded several voice lines for the character, which fans are mocking online.

Reacting online, fans ruthlessly made fun of the performance, with some hardcore fans of the series believing she was the wrong choice for the character from the start.

One user said, “I'm sorry, I like Megan Fox when she was doing Transformers, but she CANNOT voice act Nitara,” while another added, “PSA for video game developers/animation studios: STOP HIRING BIG NAME ACTORS OVER PROFESSIONAL VOICE ACTORS. Both of the worst vocal performances in Mortal Kombat 1 are from big name actors. Megan Fox genuinely put zero effort into her performance as Nitara.”

Finally, one said, “Megan Fox is AWFUL as Nitara in MK1.” Ouch. Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time a celebrity has gotten hate for starring in a Mortal Kombat game, as WWE star Ronda Rousy got slated for her performance as Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11.

Rousey was criticised for many of the same reasons as Fox - mainly flat-line delivery and a general lack of emotion for the character. That being said, some fans believe that performance was better than Fox’s, with one user saying, “Megan Fox['s] Nitara might be worse than Ronda Rousey['s] Sonya was and that’s saying a lot.”

While nothing can be done about the performance anymore, Megan Fox will soon be overshadowed by celebrities J.K Simmons and John Cena, who’ll soon join the game’s incredible roster as Omniman and Peacemaker respectively.

Homelander from The Boys will also be featured, though it’s currently unconfirmed if Antony Starr will be reprising the role.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available right now for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
