PC users can grab free acclaimed open-world action RPG for limited time

PC users can currently grab action RPG Cat Quest, but only for a limited time.

Christmas may have passed, but who’s to say that you’ve unwrapped your last gift? Over on the Epic Games Store, festive giveaways continue and right now, you can grab a fantastic open-world action RPG for a limited time.

The game in question is the delightful Cat Quest, developed by The Gentlebros and published by Kepler Interactive. I do mean it when I say you only have a limited time though. Cat Quest is only free until 4PM GMT later today, on 29 December - which is in approximately seven hours time at the time of publishing so run, run, run if you’re interested. If you do miss out, it’s not the end of the world as a new game will become available to download once the Cat Quest offer expires. Swings and roundabouts.

Take a look at Cat Quest in action below.

Cat Quest’s synopsis reads, “The multi award-winning action RPG. Some say 'Diablo with Cats' others a 'Super-cute Skyrim', whatever your take, Cat Quest's loot-fuelled cat-venture is as beautifully crafted, as its combat and magic are ultra-satisfying. Universally adored by critics - it'll have you purring for joy!”

In Cat Quest, you’ll essentially seek out the evil Drakoth who’s kidnapped, or catnapped, your sister. Set in the world of Felingard, you must fend off an array of enemies and go dungeon-diving for epic loot. While, of course, you’ll want to get to your sister as soon as possible, there are some fun side quests to see too, including helping mages Mewlin and Meowgan with a problematic magic seal. You’ll also discover one town in which residents mysteriously “lust for obscene amounts of meat”. Odd.

Over on Steam, the game has got ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews. “I am honestly surprised at how fun this game is. I loved every minute of playing this game,” wrote one user, while another added, “This is perhaps one of the greatest games I have ever played. I am not joking. This game is really fun.” Praise doesn’t come any higher than that. Dive in while you can.
