Not to remind anybody of their age with no warning but it has almost been twenty-years since The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was first released and with no signs of an official remaster, it is down to some dedicated fans to give us a sneak peek at what the game could look like in 2024.
Released in 2006 for the Xbox 360, PC and later the PlayStation 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was perhaps the most loved and successful Elder Scrolls entry before the arrival of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in 2011. The Bethesda title was praised for having all the hallmarks of an RPG classic with exciting quests, immersive stories and hours of content.

However, with the game quickly approaching its 20th anniversary, it is safe to say that Oblivion is due a bit of a refresh but with Bethesda hard at work on updating Starfield and developing Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6, it may be a while before Oblivion gets a spruce up.

Despite that, one Youtuber known as Digital Dreams has released a trailer giving us a look at what The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would look like using the RTX4090, over 200 mods, maximum raytracing and Reshade. Spoiler alert, it looks incredible.
The trailer that comes in at just over eight-minutes gives us a sneak peek at the world of Oblivion like we have never seen before. Exploring lush forests, enhanced cities, distant mountains and more, the Bethesda title looks improved in every way. Light is more dynamic, NPCs look less like potatoes and the scenery is enhanced enough to rival more recent video game titles.
One viewer said: “This is what Oblivion looked like to me as a kid” whilst another commented: “I remember buying Oblivion for the Xbox 360 and at first regretted it for some reason. But I gave it a try and man, I got so invested. Had so much fun playing it. Good ole days. This looks amazing, brother!”
