Bloodborne collides with Ghost Of Tsushima in new PlayStation 5 exclusive

Bloodborne collides with Ghost Of Tsushima in new PlayStation 5 exclusive

This is looking promising

Okay, that’s it, I’m in love with this game. It’s not even out and I’m declaring it a winner. Phantom Blade Zero, a new PlayStation 5 exclusive looks the business.

Check out the vibes on display; It’s giving Bloodborne in its creepy tone and monsters, while also chanelling Ghost of Tsushima in its gorgeous setting of traditional Asia.

We still aren't getting a sequel to Bloodborne, but Phantom Blade Zero might do instead

The announcement of the game from developer S-Game sets the scene nicely; Phantom Blade Zero started life in RPG Maker as ‘Rainblood: Town of Death’ (which is the most metal name, ever).

The company had previously only published games for mobile platforms in China, but they had their sights set on a blockbuster title that would rival current action adventures.

A “spiritual rebirth of the original Rainblood” this is larger and richer than what was originally on the table, but the core and the passion have stayed the same.

Phantom Blade Zero is set in the ‘Phantom World’ and “You’ll find Chinese Kungfu, intricate machines reminiscent of steampunk, arts of the occult, and intriguing stuff that doesn’t quite fit into any of these categories.”

Not gonna lie, but the story dips into Yakuza territory here as you play an assassin, part of ‘The Order’ who is setting you up for killing their patriarch. Big-time Yakuza feels here, but the world is far-flung from metropolitan.

This world is gritty, grueling, and dangerous, and is inspired directly by “Louis Cha’s Wuxia stories to Bruce Lee’s movies, Michelle Yeoh in Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Donnie Yen in John Wick: Chapter 4.”

Set in a “semi-open world” there will be plenty of missions to sink your teeth into, along with various martial arts skills to wield in your fight against The Order. So far, this is sounding like a winner for PlayStation 5, and hopefully we’ll see more soon.
