God of War studio gains former Gears of War narrative director

God of War studio gains former Gears of War narrative director

Gears of War developer jumps ship to join God of War team

GoW can usually mean one of two things to gamers, either God of War or Gears of War. However, today, we get a combination of the two.

For each of the respective console brands, God of War is one of the most popular properties on PlayStation, as is Gears of War on Xbox. While being very different games, each offers well-told stories that can keep you engaged throughout and occasionally, will pull on your heartstrings. We’ll never forget you, Dom.

However, as reported by VGC, fighting on both sides of the war, God of War developer Santa Monica Studio has nabbed a talented creative from The Coalition. Announcing the news on Twitter, Bonnie Jean Mah announced that she has joined the God of War studio as narrative director.

Jean Mah, who had also previously worked on the likes of Age of Empires IV and 40K: Space Marine tweeted: “ALL RIGHT, let's do this...I'm SO excited to share my news: I’ve joined Santa Monica as a narrative director. I’m beyond thrilled to be working with this team and studio. LET’S GOOOOO.”

At this time, Santa Monica Studio hasn't announced any new projects, nor has The Coalition announced an upcoming game. Both studios have been hiring though for the God of War and Gears of War franchises, interestly.

It’s unclear at this time what projects Jean Meh will be working on. Some may hope that the developer could be working on the rumoured God of War Ragnarök DLC or a sequel. Perhaps Jean Meh may be working on something else entirely different, only time will tell and we can’t wait to find out.

God of War Ragnarök is out now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
