Horizon Forbidden West sequel is coming, but we're in for a wait

Horizon 3 is inevitable at this point, though leakers reckon it’ll be a while before we can even catch a glimpse of it.

If PlayStation does anything right it’s the exclusives, after all you’d likely only buy a PlayStation 5 to play games like Marvel’s Spider-Man and The Last Of Us Part 1, amongst others.

Another stellar exclusive series is Horizon: Zero Dawn and its sequel Forbidden West, both of which are now available on PC too.

Both are fantastic open world games with charming characters, a solid story and good mix of survival and action gameplay.

Ever since the second game and its PS5 exclusive DLC expansion Burning Shores dropped, fans have been hungry for more, and I think we can all confidently say a third game is a case of when not if at this point.

However there’s a small caveat, if a third game is truly in development I’m afraid we won’t be getting out hands on it for quite a while, in fact it could very well be a PlayStation 6 title at this rate.

A leaker by the name of Silknigth recently took to Twitter to spill some details they’d heard regarding a third Horizon game, as well as The Last Of Us Part 3.

They said: “Horizon 3 will take a bit longer to be revealed, and TLOU3 is not Naughty Dog's active project. Naughty Dog's game is a new IP.”

Of course fans should take this with a pinch of salt, as there’s no word from Sony or Guerilla Games on the next game in the series, though chances it’s being made with the next big console in mind does seem pretty reasonable.

Rest assured one day we will return to the wild lands, but for now, we wait, and hope it’s sooner rather than later.
