Marvel's Spider-Man 2 just teased a link to Tobey Maguire's Spidey

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 seemingly features Tobey Maguire's iconic Spider-Man 3 black suit.

Are your Spidey Senses tingling? It seems there is something disturbing on the horizon, if uncool dance moves can be considered disturbing. It seems that the latest trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is linking back to that phenomenal performance from Tobey Maquire and his black Spidey suit in the film Spider-Man 3. Remember, we already got the Spidey 3 finger guns in the previous game.

Yes, the suit has been spotted in a brief look from Insomniac. The suit looks very close to the one that appeared in the sometimes ironic Sam Raimi third film. Eagle-eye fans noticed the suit wasn’t smooth like the symbiote outfit from the new game, but featured silver webbing and a texture, as seen in the film. So, yes, Bully Maguire is here to dance and steal your girl.

Take a look at the suit in the latest trailer below.

The suit was heavily requested from fans after the success of the first game, which debuted on PS4. It’s also another step in folding together the vast Spider-Man universe as we saw Insomniac’s Spidey appear in the recent animated smash hit, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

There are at least 65 suits in the new game, which is a pretty hefty amount of fashion for our favourite webslingers Peter Parker and Miles Morales, so will any of the others link to the cinematic Spider-Man films? Sixty-five suits is a lot, so there will be some overlap of those we’ve seen before. However, it’s great to see the Spidey tendrils spreading out through previous appearances.

Of course, this does raise the question, will we see Tom Hardy’s incarnation of Venom appear in the game, too? Who knows where the multiverse will visit, or how many heroes and villains we’ll get to see. It seems like Insomniac have the storytelling chops and the connections to bring us the best of Spider-Man.

Who’s up for some Morbius DLC? Just us?
