Minecraft is believed to be finally going native on the PlayStation 5, and fans can’t wait to see what improvements it comes with.
Only the greatest games stand the test of time, and even then they often become heavily scrutinised as to whether they really were that good, or if it’s just rose-tinted glasses, fortunately Minecraft isn’t one of those.

It’s kind of hard to hate Minecraft, as even if you don’t particularly vibe with its open-ended sandbox gameplay it’s pretty inoffensive and just sort of happily exists, doing its own thing and minding its own business.

This means whenever there’s an update for the game, it’s considered a big one, so the news that the game is finally getting a native PlayStation 5 version is huge.
For those unaware, a native version of a game means it's optimised for that system, and can take advantage of whatever the hardware allows rather than just be a port.
With Minecraft getting a native PS5 version, it can utilise all the power the system has and even potentially adopt some of its other features, like DualSense.
Of course there’s a long list of stuff fans are hoping to see, with many sharing their hopes in a Reddit post discussing the native version further.

Whatever the future holds for Minecraft, it’s almost guaranteed that the title’s popularity will never dwindle, especially with a live-action film starring Jack Black on the horizon.
