Tweaking the settings of your PlayStation 5 so you get the best out of your experience is always advised. However, few pieces of advice are as important to heed as this recent one.
As you may remember, it was only a few weeks ago that all the Xbox third-party discourse got out of control as fans realised that exclusives were headed to other consoles. Well, the time for that to happen is upon us, and with it comes the warning to prepare yourselves – and your PlayStation 5 – for what that brings.

Sea of Thieves is headed to PS5 at the end of April (30 April to be exact), which means that newcomers run the risk of facing off against highly experienced swashbucklers. This is why changing your settings becomes important, otherwise you're going to die often whilst exploring the open seas.

"Just in case you don't want to play against veterans try hards [and instead] learn the game alongside other newbies," posted a Redditor, alongside a image of crossplay options being turned off.
It's sound advice, yet some fans are eager to ignore it in favour of declaring "war" on Xbox gamers to fight the "true console war among the seas". A little alarming, and a tad drastic, but whatever gets you there, we guess.
Others with experience of this already, however, prefer safe passage whilst sailing. "It’s incredibly frustrating," said one player. "I’ve played a lot of Sea of Thieves. Nothing is more deflating after spending several hours on the seas and going to turn everything in to only get destroyed by some ridiculously OP party."
There you have it; you can join the foolhardy pirates who are ready to tackle any and all enemies, or you can take the cautious route and deactivate crossplay. We know which we prefer...
