Stumble and fall

PlayStation gamers can look forward to a brand-new free game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and the best part is that you won't actually need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play.

Those of you who already have PlayStation Plus will know it gives you access to hundreds of free games, trials, and exclusive discounts, but not everyone wants to fork out the monthly fee - especially if they can't be sure they're going to enjoy the new games each month.

Take a look at the new PlayStation 5 Access controller below!

The good news for those of you without PlayStation Plus is that you'll actually be able to dive into a new free game soon with zero subscription needed. The bad news, I'm afraid, is that it's a rather shameless ripoff of a popular 2020 video game. Swings and roundabouts.

I'm sure if you have a PlayStation you've probably played Fall Guys, the excellent free-to-play multiplayer battle royale that blends Takeshi's Castle with a CBBC gameshow. Now imagine that game but not quite as good. That's what you'll be getting for free. Hurray!

To be fair, we've played Stumble Guys and it's not bad at all. It's just that Fall Guys does everything Stumble Guys but better. Still, if you're really interested in checking it out, it'll be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this year. A specific release date has yet to be announced, however you can currently pre-register over on the registration page of the game's official website.

Stumble Guys was previously exclusive to mobile and PC, but a console release was announced earlier this year. It actually has largely positive reviews over on Steam, too, with many praising the hilarity and chaos that ensues in every game.

Maybe it's unfair to compare it to Fall Guys then, I don't know. Maybe if they didn't want it to be compared to Fall Guys they shouldn't have called it Stumble Guys.
