One of the best perks of subscribing to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier is getting to play some PS1 bangers from our childhood and PS Plus for April 2024 is no exception.
Following on from the PlayStation Plus Essential titles for April 2024 which included Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft: Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer, Sony announced this week what’s coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers. 16 of the announced titles include the likes of Dave the Diver, LEGO Avengers, The Crew 2 and more.

In our review of Dave the Diver for Nintendo Switch, we said: “The game’s central loop of exploration and fishing in the day followed by an evening of restauranteering makes it perfectly suited to Nintendo’s handheld as a cosy pick-up-and-play game. A definite must-play, which is really saying something given how many must-plays we’ve already had this year.”

However, if you subscribe to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier you can enjoy classic titles of a bygone era from PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP. With that in mind, three awesome titles from the original PlayStation are arriving this month, namely; Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire and MediEvil.
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare was originally released in 2001 for PC, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and SEGA Dreamcast and even received a port for the Game Boy Color. Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire was released in 1995 for PC and PlayStation while MediEvil launched as a PS1 exclusive in 1998.
Best of all, with all three of those classic PS1 games coming to PS Plus, it also means that they’ll be available to purchase directly from the PlayStation Store with no PS Plus subscription needed.
All of the titles included in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium this month will be available from Tuesday, 16 April 2024.
