PlayStation Plus is finally getting something we've waited years for

PlayStation Plus Premium is the service’s most expensive tier, but its hefty price tag does come with some nice perks.

Premium subscribers are able to cloud stream, enjoy limited-time trials of the latest releases, in addition to accessing a wide array of retro titles.

This includes titles from the PS1, PS2, and PS3 eras. Personally, it’s the PlayStation 2 era that oozes the most nostalgia for me.

If you’re in the same boat then we’re both in luck, as it looks as if further PS2 titles could soon be landing on PlayStation Plus.

As pointed out by Reddit user Sascha2022, Implicit Conversions is the company responsible for bringing many PS1 and PSP classics to PlayStation Plus Premium, emulating these retro favourites on the PlayStation 4 and 5 systems.

Well, if you take a look at their website, it mentions something rather interesting concerning the PlayStation 2.

Enjoy a trip down memory lane with us as we recall some of our favourite PlayStation 2 titles.

Implicit Conversations’ website states, “Right now, we're working on bringing games from the original PS1, PSP, and PS2 to the PS4 and PS5.”

They go on to add, "Among our clients, we are working with Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation to bring PS1, PS2, and PSP games to the PS4 and PS5. Some of our partners and publishers include Disney Interactive, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Konami, Capcom, Team17, and Bend Studio."

Fair to say that the Premium tier isn’t as abundantly stocked as the Extra catalogue, so it certainly would be nice to see that improved, particularly if it's with PS2 games.

It’s a prospect that’s left PlayStation Plus subscribers feeling rather excited.

“Original Silent Hill games ported to PS5 PLEASE,” wrote Reddit user Khynmm, while Neeko__uWu added, “APE ESCAPE 3, WE BACK.”

“Onimusha please,” requested srsnake113, plus Therenegadegamer commented, “Give me Tales of the Abyss with trophy support.”

We’re just a couple of days away from finding out what this month’s Extra and Premium tier line-up includes.

As a reminder, March’s Essential tier games are available to download now. Those are EA Sports F1 23, Sifu, Hello Neighbour 2, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

March’s Extra and Premium line-up should be announced on Wednesday 13 March.
