A new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 restores countless voice lines initially cut from the full release.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is big, like really big, so big that it’s a wonder Rockstar Games managed to release it in such a perfect state.

The Red Dead Redemption re-release comes out tomorrow, check out the trailer below

Even now, it’s still celebrated as the best game the developer has ever released, until GTA VI that is. Thousands of fans still praise its open world, the masterpiece story, and one of the best protagonists in gaming, Arthur Morgan.

Now, it’s taken years for fans to search every nook and cranny, hypothetically and literally, for all the game has to offer, and some fans are still stumbling across new stuff today. Some fans are approaching the exploration from a different perspective though, the wonderful world of mods, and have made one that restores loads of cut dialogue.

Simply titled the Cut Dialogue Enhanced mod, available via Nexus Mods, it does exactly what it says on the tin and restores a variety of voice lines not found in the base game. These include phrases spoken during combat encounters like taunts, interactions between Arthur and shopkeepers, or more lines when picking a fight with one of the NPCs.

It’s estimated that hundreds of lines have been restored, and the mod creator, roastedflamingo, has stated they’ve tweaked the probability settings for the lines. This means you’re less likely to hear repeated phrases, which I’m sure will be a hit for fans who crave as much immersion as possible in the game’s world.

In other news, Rockstar Games is still under heavy criticism from fans, who are disappointed with the new re-release of Red Dead Redemption. The re-release comes out tomorrow for Nintendo Switch and PS4 at a premium price point, despite no improvements or content additions whatsoever.

Hopefully, the developer can win back everyone’s favour with an update on Grand Theft Auto VI’s development.
