To no surprise, it looks like October will be no different, as it’ll give players the chance to play hundreds of games for free, as well as take part in other fun activities.

October marks the return of the Steam Next Fest, a special event that pops up every now and again to celebrate the latest and greatest games making their way onto the Steam store, as well as give fans some exclusive offers and goodies to take advantage of.

Kicking off on 9 October, fans will be granted access to hundreds of free Steam demos, giving them a taste of what’s to come, and hopefully, stirring up some excitement for some delightful future indie games.

Fans will also be able to watch some exclusive live streams for future titles, diving into their gameplay, development, and much more. There’ll even be the chance to speak to some of the developers to talk about the upcoming games, with some potential opportunities to ask your burning questions about titles that piqued your interest.

In other news, Steam has welcomed some great new additions to its library, like Valve’s very own, Counter Strike 2, which has unfortunately led to the original Counter-Strike: Global Offensive being pulled offline forever.

Recently there was also the exciting announcement that one of the best PlayStation 5 games so far, Horizon: Forbidden West, as well as its DLC, will finally make its way onto Steam, as part of a new Complete Edition.

As for Steam Next Fest though, fans will have to patiently wait for it to begin on 9 October. The festival will run for about a week, terminating on 16 October.
