Xbox gamers can grab an exclusive free download right now

Xbox owners with a copy of Hearts of Iron IV are going to want to pay attention to this.

Given how expensive gaming can be, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re getting the most out of your purchases.

Well, if you’re an Xbox user who happens to own Heart of Irons IV, you’ve come to the right place.

You can use your Xbox purchase to redeem the game on Steam, offering some nice platform versatility but that’s not particularly the best part of this offer.

As spotted by Reddit user MeguminShiro, Xbox users who do redeem their copy of Hearts of Iron IV over on Steam will also gain access to all DLCs, even if they do not own those DLCs on Xbox. That’s a nice bonus.

Fallout will soon be premiering on Amazon Prime. Take a look at its latest trailer below.

Admittedly, Hearts of Iron IV isn’t the most popular game on the planet but it does still maintain a dedicated player base - and those players should be informed of such opportunities as this.

Released in 2016, Hearts of Iron IV is, of course, a grand strategy wargame game developed by Paradox Development Studio.

It boasts a very respectable score of 83 over on Metacritic, with critics hailing it as one of the “best grand strategy game[s] out there”.

Obviously this news is a bit of a kick in the teeth to those who’ve purchased all of the DLCs on Steam but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

The reason that this offer has come into place seems to be linked to the fact that Paradox has recently stopped supporting Hearts of Iron IV on Xbox.

As of 1 March 2024, the game will receive no further updates on Xbox - nor can you purchase it on the Microsoft store.

You can still play the game but you can see why they’re anticipating that players might want to switch over to Steam to make the most of future updates. The DLCs are a nice apology bonus.

You just need to head on over to the Paradox Interactive website in order to obtain your new Steam code.

It’s not yet known whether this is a limited-time opportunity, but it’s always best to err on the side of caution and act quickly.
