PlayStation free PS5 game is 'breathtaking', and 'best looking game ever', fans say

A vision

The PlayStation 5 is home to some of the best-looking games we've ever seen.

Whether you're diving headfirst into the gorgeous oceans of Horizon Forbidden West or being distracted by a gothic castle in Demon's Souls while a monster sneaks up and eats your heart out of your chest, there's definitely a little something for everyone. And one of the latest free games to come from PlayStation might just be one of the best-looking games of all time.

The last few months have seen PlayStation Plus get some really brilliant games, if you're still on the fence in regards to whether or not to grab a subscription (or upgrade to a higher tier). Subscribers can currently play one of the best action-adventure games out there, and a brand-new release that's winning rave reviews. Not too shabby.

While it's been available via PlayStation Plus for a little while now, one game that's blowing newcomers away is Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart. Regulars visitors of our little site may know that we gave Insomniac's PS5 debut a 10/10 back when it launched - and now subscribers don't have to fork out £70 to play it, they're discovering how great it is.

"Stating the obvious here, but what a great game," enthused one fan over on the PS Plus subreddit. "I'd played the 2016 freebie they upgraded to 60 fps on ps5 last year, and to be honest I didn't think it was that great. At least, i wasn't blown away by it despite the great writing and art direction. Then i played this...

"Insomniac is killing it over the past couple years. The gameplay is tighter and more enjoyable, the set pieces are bigger, the writing and characters are aces (had me laughing throughout), and the VISUALS. Holy crap. I still think Demon's Souls remake is the best looking game I've ever played, but this had me reconsidered that opinion hard. It's breathtaking and wonderfully imaginative."

So there you have it. If you have a PlayStation Plus Extra subscription and you haven't played Rift Apart yet? You're mugging yourself off. Get on it!
