PlayStation 5 Port Absolutely Destroyed By Kid, And The Photos Are Horrifying

PlayStation 5 Port Absolutely Destroyed By Kid, And The Photos Are Horrifying

"Was he by chance using a mallet?"

This PlayStation 5 was subject to some proper inhuman strength from a small child, who has utterly destroyed the HDMI port with their hijinks, and the internet is absolutely amazed.

Take a look at this PlayStation 5. Take a good, long look at these photos of what remains of this console. Alright, that's a little melodramatic, I'll admit, but I've got two words for this result. Goodness. Gracious. This work of "art" is titled, "PS5 in for HDMI replacement. Kid said 'I pushed the cable in a little too hard.'"

In three photos, Reddit user cdq1985 shows that the port is completely wrecked, with the metal bent and snapped due to the excessive force. The plastic surrounding it didn't escape unscathed with serious scratches on either side as well as discolouration due to warping. And, I'm no expert but the actual interface between contact and the connector is beyond fixing as those negative and positive channels and clock won't recognise any cable that's placed there.

I cannot imagine the look on the parent's face when they arrived on the scene, and I cannot imagine how the person that had to repair it didn't burst into laughter or tears or both when it was presented to them. Reddit users have piled onto the post to work out what cable the child was trying to put in the port, and the answers range from the plausible to the peculiar.

"Was he by chance using a mallet to put the HDMI in?" asked GCSpellbreaker. Someone else suggested a porta power, which is a hydraulic ram pump able to deliver forces of several tonnes, predominantly used to pop dents out of metal panels on trucks. It's not totally out of the realm of enquiry, I suppose.

Others were more intrigued by the incredible powers of the child themselves. "He pushed the cable with the might of Zeus. This kid has a future in weightlifting," said Cordyanza.

"Is your a kid a terminator? (pun not intended)" asked MrReeds. The best theory right now is that the kid is of average strength, but the situation quickly got out of hand. They put the HDMI in the wrong way round, then it became stuck. They did their best to wiggle it out, until their parent came along to discover the disaster. As a larger and wiser human, they know that they'll have to remove that cable if the console is to go in for repairs, but it's properly jammed in there. So, they took a flathead screwdriver and tried to lift the adapter out of the now extremely distorted port, and the effort required kept causing the screwdriver to slip and scratch the plastic.

Godspeed. If you have young ones and this story has filled you with inescapable dread, never fear. Here is a list of excellent games to play with your kids who are stuck indoors while lockdowns are still active. Just be sure to teach them what wire goes in which spot on their consoles.
