PlayStation Plus is celebrating a major one year milestone. In June of last year, the revamped service was launched, introducing the essential, extra, and premium tiers. I’m constantly picking out new games to try from the expansive extra catalogue, so it’s somewhat odd to think that for years, we simply had three or four games a month to choose from.
To celebrate, this month’s PlayStation Plus extra and premium tier drop is an absolute whopper. In total, a collective 28 games are on offer this month - a line-up which fans have referred to as ‘pretty f**king amazing’. They boast over 450 hours of gameplay, plus it’s been teased that premium subscribers will eventually gain access to PS5 game cloud streaming. The feature is currently being worked on. Today though, I’m here to highlight the addition of one PS1 gem. The premium tier has gained Killzone: Liberation (PSP), Worms (PS1), Herc’s Adventures (PS1), and Coded Soul (PSP) - and you need to check out Worms.
Far Cry 6 is included in this month’s extra tier drop.
Developed by Team17, Worms was originally released all the way back in 1995. The tactical turn-based game sees players essentially compete in a battle between two factions of warring worms. It was first released on the Amiga but was later ported to various platforms including the PS1, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, SNES, and Game Boy among others.

The game was a major commercial success, selling almost 250,000 copies in its first year and while a remake was launched on the PlayStation 3 back in 2009, you can now enjoy the PS1 original thanks to the latest PS Plus premium drop.
