So whether you love it or hate it, it's hard to deny that the PlayStation 5 makes a statement - both of the next-gen consoles do. Either you're buying a wave machine or a tower block, so no matter which console you prefer you'll have a piece of funky art in your living room. Some of you might not like the white and blue hues of the PS5 though, so you'll be glad to know that custom shells are already being sold by third-party sources.

Spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle, you can already order customised plates to replace the white waves on the side of your PS5 and we're already imagining all of our future customisation options. Right now Customize My Plates has five different colours to choose from, and all of them are very stylish.

First, let's look at the limited edition, V1 matte black that they're offering. Many consumers will want a black version of a PlayStation 5 and these plates make it happen with what looks like a soft touch beautiful matte finish.

If you're looking for something a little more snazzy then you might like the Chromatic version which, while probably being a fingerprint magnet, will elevate the PlayStation to looking like the space-age tech it really wants to be.

Finally there's the cherry red shell which looks just about good enough to eat. If, you know, it weren't made of plastic. Does it taste like cherry though? No, probably not. But who are we to judge those that want to find out for definite.

If you haven't already watched the breakdown video where we see the innards of a PlayStation 5, then you might not know that replacing the sides of the PS5 is actually a pretty easy job by the looks of it - which is why we expect to see many more plate replacement options in the future.
