Popular Streamer Believes She Was Roofied At Twitch Event

Popular Twitch streamer Maya Higa has revealed she suspects she was drugged with rohypnol (or roofied) during the recent Twitch Rivals event in Las Vegas. 

While she is fortunately able to confirm she wasn’t harmed as a result of being with friends and other Twitch streamers all night, her previous experience with the drug has led her to believe someone definitely slipped her something. 

"Some weird shit happened, but it wasn't alcohol things," Maya explained during a recent stream. "I was roofied my junior year of college. When I was in the bathroom [at Twitch Rivals], I was trying to focus on the lock on the door and it kept hitting the ceiling, and then time was skipping a lot - that's what it felt like when I was roofied in college.

"So I dumped the rest of my beer in the toilet, and I was like, 'Yeah this is not right.' You're awake the whole time but then you kinda wake up somewhere else and it's like there was a fast forward that you don't remember. That's what it felt like when I got roofied in college."

Maya added later on in the stream that there was a man at the event who made her feel uncomfortable, so she asked fellow streamer Myth to keep him away from her. At one point, she claims the stranger asked where she’d gone - which only made her more suspicious of him. 

"It's not that bad," Maya concluded. "It's not a problem. I know nothing bad happened because I was with QT [QTCinderella] and Myth."

Unfortunately, this is not the first time a streamer has reported being roofied at a Twitch event. KTLodo tweeted back in 2019 that she’d been drugged at a bar with Twitchcon attendees, and ultimately ended up in the hospital because of the potentially fatal combination of benzodiazepines and alcohol in her system.
