'The Sims 4' Latest Update Accidentally Added Incest To The Game

The latest 'Sims 4' update might give the player a bit too much freedom.

The Sims franchise has always had a dark side. While it's certainly a wholesome game if you play it correctly, it does give our inner sadist a few unwholesome options. Putting someone in a room and taking away the door to watch them panic and potentially starve to death, for example. Like the Grand Theft Auto series, it can bring out the worst in us.

A recent patch for Sims 4, however, has given the AI of the sims themselves an unfortunate urge.

On July 26th, Sims 4 received a huge free update which included curved walls, body hair, new fears, and new desires. It's in this last addition, however, that our Sims have developed an inappropriate desire for their family members, a-la House Lannister. One Reddit user shared their disturbing find on the platform, the title of their post being the reasonable question: "Why is my Sim getting a whim to ask her own son to be her boyfriend?" Another player reported the bug on the official EA forums, their issue stated quite clearly as "The new Wants system has given my sim the 'want' to ask his twin sister to be his girlfriend."

Fortunately, this is indeed a bug that the team intend to fix as soon as possible. One of the devs on Twitter acknowledged this yesterday. See their tweet below:

SimGuruNick, a quality designer on Sims 4 Live Operations Team, seems to think the problem will be ironed out soon. They said that they were "looking to get it fixed ASAP."

Another problem with the new patch is the fact that Sims seem to be rapidly ageing. Hopefully this too will be solved, unless you were thinking of making a Solid Snake scenario.
