Arthurian legend reimagined

For fans of Skyrim, or any other high-fantasy RPG, you’ll be eating well with this open-world game on Steam, that currently has a free demo available.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is an RPG currently in early access that takes a fresh look at Arthurian legend and puts it through a new spin. With a “world stuck in everlasting autumn,” players will “witness falling legends and make meaningful choices woven into a complex, branching storyline.”

Fans of Skyrim will love Tainted Grail for its high fantasy open-world

The game initially launched in March 2023 and is constantly undergoing updates to craft a game based on both player feedback, as well as the evolving desires of the small team. Tainted Grail takes place after the death of King Arthur and it’s up to you to unravel the mystery surrounding his death. There are plenty of branching plot points that force you into making some difficult choices that have an impact on the story.

Wearing its inspirations proudly, it’s clear that Skyrim fans will lap this up; from the expansive world filled with dungeons to the combat that features swords, axes, hammers, and bows, there’s something for everyone. Players can create their own characters and personalise them in myriad ways, truly shaping a unique adventure.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an RPG without some side quests and fun activities. There’s fishing to be done, ingredients to gather, people to help out - who will feature a wealth of replies both good and bad - and don’t forget a little bit of crafting.

It’s shaping up to be a great game that will hopefully fill in a void left for those who have completed Skyrim many times and are now just waiting for Elder Scrolls 6. There’s no firm date for the game to be complete, but players who buy in now will get the game for less money than it will cost on full release.
