South Park: Snow Day officially announced for new-gen consoles and PC

THQ Nordic have officially revealed South Park: Snow Day, due to release on new-gen consoles and PC in 2024.

THQ Nordic have finally pulled back the curtain on their upcoming South Park game. Revealed at their annual showcase, South Park: Snow Day is set to be released in 2024.

The project was first teased at last year’s showcase, so we’ve certainly had to wait a good long while for the full reveal. In fact, THQ Nordic had quite a number of exciting announcements up its sleeve. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin video game was confirmed to be in development at Black Forest Games, Alone in the Dark received a brand new trailer, as did Wreckreation. I’m pretty intrigued by the new open-world third-person shooter Outcast - A New Beginning too, which is on the way from developers Appeal Studios. Major Horizon Zero Dawn meets Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora vibes, but let’s get back to it and dive into exactly what South Park: Snow Day is all about.

Take a look at the brand new trailer for South Park: Snow Day below.

South Park: Snow Day has been confirmed to be a 3D co-op multiplayer entry which will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in 2024. It’s being developed by South Park Digital Studios, THQ Nordic, and Question Games - and can be enjoyed by up to four players.

The synopsis reads, “Join Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny, in three-dimensional glory, to celebrate the most magical day in any young child’s life - a snow day! Grab up to three friends and battle your way through the snow-piled streets of South Park on a quest to save the world and enjoy a day without school.”

THQ Nordic may have only teased the project last year, but Question Games were confirmed to be working on a South Park title the year prior. Now, we know that the THQ Nordic and Question Games projects are officially one and the same. We’ll be keeping an eye out for that coveted release date.
