The Super Mario Bros. Movie is available to stream now

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is now available to buy and rent digitally, but it's pretty expensive.

The time has come. Little over a month on from its overwhelmingly successful cinema release, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is now available to watch from home. That’s definitely deserving of a big ol’ ‘wahoo’.

If you’ve not already watched The Super Mario Bros. Movie, you’re in for a treat. There’s a reason why it has a 96% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes - it’s a delightful time filled with fun references to all things Nintendo, and even though it’s got a pretty simple story, the entire voice cast has done a great job at bringing the beloved characters to life. At this point, I’m sure everyone on the internet has heard Jack Black’s song ‘Peaches’ at least three times, and all I’ll say is that I sincerely hope it gets that Oscar nomination.

Take a look at our interview with Anya Taylor-Joy about her role as Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie below.

Here at GAMINGbible, we were big fans of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, too. In my review, I wrote: “Anyone who’s played literally any Mario game before (and especially those familiar with other retro Nintendo goodness) are sure to be blown away by the film’s incredible attention to detail. This is more than a movie that takes inspiration from the main Mario series, it’s bursting with love for everything about the franchise and gaming in general, and is overall an immensely enjoyable time.”

Anyway, if you’ve been too busy over the last month to see it in a cinema, as IGN reports, from today (16 May), fans can either buy or rent the film on digital platforms. However, it’s pretty pricey - it’ll cost $29.99 in the U.S. to buy outright, so it’s not necessarily the most cost-efficient way of watching it.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has already smashed past $1 billion at the worldwide box office, which is astronomical, but certainly not undeserved. Here’s hoping that we’ll hear news about a sequel sometime soon.
