There’s a reason why The Witcher universe is so expensive, and simply put, it’s because it’s a licence with interesting characters, picturesque locations and enough stories to tell that campfire tales will last millennia (probably).
Inspired by the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher as a video game series launched exclusively on PC in 2007. Admittedly, the original game in the series wasn't all that great, even back then, which is likely why The Witcher is getting an Unreal Engine 5 remake to not only do this series justice but also introduce the OG to a new audience.

The series from CD Projekt RED became more mainstream with the release of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in 2011 for PC and Xbox 360. However, the developer hit new heights with the critically acclaimed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015 which recently saw a new-gen remaster in 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Capitalising on the success of the third numbered entry in the video game series we have since seen live-action and animated adaptations on Netflix, as well as board games, comics and much more. The latter of which is today’s topic of discussion. Announced this week by Dark Horse, a new comic book series is on the way called The Witcher: Corvo Bianco. If that name rings a bell, it’s likely because Corvo Bianco is a vineyard visited in the brilliant expansion Blood and Wine.
The Witcher: Corvo Bianco is brought to life by Italian comic artist Corrado Mastantuono, making his debut with a US-published comic. The story will be written by Bartosz Sztybor, who is very familiar with story adaptations of The Witcher series.
“For a witcher, the simple life can be hard to come by, and even harder to pass up. When Geralt acquires a taste for a slower pace—good wine, and good company—the routines of a witcher are easily eclipsed,” reads the synopsis of The Witcher: Corvo Bianco. “With Yennefer at his side, one might hope that Geralt will truly get to enjoy a taste of the good life. But the stains of history are deep, and with blood and wine, every drop attracts those who want more.”
The Witcher: Corvo Bianco will be a five-part series with the first issue arriving in comic book stories on 8 May 2024.
