Star Wars: Force Unleashed actor teases live-action return

There are Star Wars fans, and then there are Star Wars fans who have also watched the franchise’s various animated projects. Ahsoka is clearly separating those who have done their homework from those who haven’t.

It’s been interesting seeing everyone’s reaction to the show here at GAMINGbible. Some of us are utterly clueless as to what is going on, while others have taken on the role of official ‘lore’ masters. Regardless of whether you know what’s going on or not, Ahsoka has proven to be very popular. It’s the highest-rated Star Wars project since the original trilogy which is an impressive accolade. If you’ve played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you certainly would have recognised the Nightsisters of Dathomir. Speaking of video games, fans have been desperate to see Force Unleashed’s Starkiller return for years … and it may be happening.

Fans have been theorising for months as to whether Starkiller will return in Ahsoka. For context, Starkiller was born Galen Marek, a force sensitive youngling who was taken by Darth Vader following the murder of his parents during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Vader then raised Marek as his own apprentice and personal assassin, with Marek taking on the moniker Starkiller. Marek was eventually betrayed by Vader and left for dead.

The character exists in the extended Legends universe, but Dave Filoni is no stranger to making Legends characters canonical. Thrawn once existed only in the Legends universe and look at him now. We don’t know the identity of Ahsoka’s mysterious Inquisitor and now Starkiller actor Sam Witwer has added fuel to the fire.

We’ve known that Witwer’s name is in the credits for quite some time, but we don’t know anything else about his involvement. The actor provided ‘additional voices’ for Jedi: Survivor so it could be a similar situation, making his involvement insignificant in terms of what that means for Starkiller. The actor touched on his inclusion though in a new interview, saying, “I can’t really talk about stuff like that [...] I was about to say I didn’t work on Ahsoka but I did. I don’t think I can say anything guys but I’m proud of Dave [Filoni].”

Hm, it would be weird to ‘forget’ you worked on Ahsoka if Witwer did do something like bringing Starkiller to life. We’ll have to wait and watch what unfolds.
