As reported by Dexerto, 50calapr is a known Escape from Tarkov streamer. Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore military tactical FPS on PC which is said to have inspired the likes of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 mode, DMZ.

Developed by Battlestate Games, Escape from Tarkov is known for its brutal and realistic mechanics, and is perhaps not for the more casual gamer. The main mode pits two teams against each other in a raid, and players must not only acquire precious loot, but battle against brutal bots in order to survive, and hopefully escape. However, things got a little too real for 50calapr during his stream last week.

Whilst chilling on a streamer, a flurry of gunshots can be heard outside the home of 50calapr, to which he quickly got up, grabbed a nearby rifle behind his chair and proceeded to leave his room in case of an immediate threat to his home. Judging by the brief footage, it seems that this is not the first time gunshots have been heard near this streamer's home.

Reflecting on the situation, 50calapr told Dexerto that he lives in a very rough part of Lexington, Kentucky in the United States. An area in which the streamer claims is home to homicides and “other violent incidents.” This area of Lexington is so infamous with violent crime, that local police have apparently advised residents to stay inside at night.

In relation to the drive-by shooting that occurred during 50calapr’s stream, he found out that it was in fact related to local gang warfare.

“In the clip you see me run out with my rifle, but by the time I got to the door in the hallway of the apartments they were already gone, so I put the rifle away and went out to make sure that no one needed first aid,” he explained.

50calapr told Dexerto that he is close to a number of residents in the apartment block where he lives, and after checking to see if his neighbours are ok, he then checked on a lady that lives above him, who he considers to be “like a mom”.

“She was my number one concern, to be honest,” he explained. “The police here in Lexington responded in a very fast and efficient time and were extremely nice to everyone.”

For those wondering why 50calapr hasn't moved away from this crime-infested area, the streamer explained that being a full-time medical student, money is so tight that it can be a struggle to even buy food.

We just hope that everyone in his area is as safe as they can be and hopefully, when 50calapr achieves his qualification in the medical industry, he can move to a safer area where his life isn't at risk.
