Vengeance Of The Moon Knight announced by Marvel in new trailer

Despite rumours back in April that Moon Knight was being cancelled, author Jed MacKay confirmed this wasn’t the case. Instead the series will welcome a brand new story titled Vengeance of the Moon Knight which just received its first trailer from Marvel itself.

It seems as though Marvel is preparing its reading fanbase for the new era of Fist of Khonshu now that The Last Days of Moon Knight is coming to an end. With the current run coming to an end, Mackay and artist Alessandro Cappuccio are getting to work on Vengeance of the Moon Knight which will introduce the start of a brand-new series.

Check out the trailer for Marvel's Moon Knight below!

To celebrate its upcoming release, Marvel has released a trailer showing a figure clad in black and wearing a mask which many fans believe to be Marc Spector's newest ally, Hunter's Moon. Cappuccio took the inspiration for this character design from ancient Egyptian banded armor - “I replaced the classic batons with similar weapons that are reminiscent of the flowers of the Nile as depicted in the hieroglyphics,” he said. “He is a new Moon Knight in both appearance and spirit and needed a change of look to suit the situation as you will see!"

This would make sense considering the series which has run for 30 issues told the story of Moon Knight with Marc Spector at the helm as the superhero himself. After the introduction of a new fist of Khonshu, Hunter's Moon and the return of Moon Knight’s arch-nemesis Black Spectre, The Last Days of Moon Knight concluded with a new avatar of Khonshu taking on the role of the main character.

"Moon Knight may be dying, but Vengeance of the Moon Knight rises, clawing itself from the grave!" MacKay wrote. "We're thrilled to bring the next chapter of this saga to uneasy life as the Midnight Mission reels from a recent loss... and yet, Moon Knight still stalks the night time streets? Despite the apocalyptic events of Moon Knight #28-30, we have plenty left to tell in the story of the Moon Knight, and I'm excited for readers to join us!"

Moon Knight #30 will be released on 13 December followed by Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 on 3 January, 2024.
