When something seems too good to be true, it almost always is. Prior to Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s release, the DMZ mode sounded like it was going to be pretty great. People got the impression that it was going to basically be like Infinity Ward’s take on the extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov, and you wouldn’t think that you could go wrong with that.
Unfortunately though, it became apparent as soon as the first gameplay footage of the mode was shown that not everyone was impressed. Some criticised the lack of in-game economy system, with some unsure what they were really meant to be working towards while playing it. This disappointment seems to have transferred to the full release, since, as Metro reports, some people are now genuinely spending money to avoid playing it.

This whole thing boils down to the M13B Assault Rifle - a weapon which, at the time of writing, can only be unlocked in Modern Warfare II and the Warzone sequel by completing a challenge in Warzone 2.0’s DMZ mode. Players simply have to defeat the Chemist in the Radiation Zone and extract his weapon once it’s dropped (thanks, GameSpot).

Since not everyone feels like spending any prolonged amount of time in DMZ, this has prompted a number of eBay listings to pop up which players can buy to literally just have someone else to get it for them and hand it over. At the time of writing, some of these cost up to £25, which is a lot of money when you consider it’s something that anyone can get for free. Some of these listings show that a number of people have bought them, too, so it's not just budding entrepreneurs hoping to make a quick buck.
While it does seem a bit odd at first, I suppose if someone’s really struggling with the challenge, buying the gun could be an option if they don’t want to miss out on it. Hopefully, future weapons won't be exclusive to this mode.
