Wednesday already dethroned as Netflix's top-watched show

Harry & Meghan has taken the top spot in the UK's Netflix Top 10, beating the record-breaking Wednesday.

Earlier this year when Stranger Things’ fourth season hit Netflix, it didn’t seem like anything was ever going to be able to top its huge viewing figures. In its first week alone, it was viewed for a whopping 286.79 million hours by fans - the hype was immense, and everyone was talking about it.

This record was broken last month by none other than Wednesday - the comedy horror based on The Addams Family’s Wednesday Addams. If you thought Stranger Things’ record was impressive, Wednesday’s first week blew it out of the water with a colossal 341.2 million hours viewed. Despite that, as UNILAD reports, it’s already been kicked from the number one spot in Netflix’s UK Top 10.

Take a look at some bloopers from Wednesday below.

Wednesday has been dethroned (excuse the pun) by Harry & Meghan - the new documentary series which tells the story of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The six-episode show premiered on Netflix on 8 December, with its final three episodes due to release tomorrow (15 December). Between its premiere and 11 December, the show managed to rack up 81.55 million hours viewed worldwide, which might not be as huge as Wednesday’s numbers, but it was still enough to grab the number one spot in the UK last week.

According to the series’ synopsis (via UNILAD), the documentary “explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution”, and “does more than illuminate one couple's love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other”.

Despite its ranking, that doesn’t mean that the series has been going down particularly well. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a critic score of 45%, and an even lower audience score of 12%. Ouch.
