Pokémon Legends: Arceus only came out the other day, but is already off to a fantastic start. Naturally, the Pokémon brand is more often than not a bedfellow with success, but there was a lot of nervous anticipation around Arceus, on whether or not it would really advance the series in a positive, progressive way.
Well, as our review says so clearly, it does. And the public is already supporting it with their wallets, as the game’s become the second-fastest-selling Nintendo Switch title in Japan, after Animal Crossing: New Horizons; while in the UK it’s the fourth-fastest-selling entry in the Pokémon series.
One of the new features in Arceus is its stronger Pokémon, who roam the wilds of the Hisui region. These monsters are less pocket sized, more gigantic and frankly terrifying beasts that will charge at you and wholly ruin your day. These Noble Pokémon will burn your cuddly pals to a crisp, and then come after you to trample your lovely Pokémon clothes into a muddy mess. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is out now for Nintendo Switch - and for PC, sort of? Modders have already set about adding features, foremost amongst them accessibility options, that don’t exist on the official Switch release. They haven’t cracked the battle sequences though, which run at double speed - hilarious, but not totally practical. I’m sure they’ll get there, just in time for Nintendo’s lawyers to throw a book at them.
