5 GTA games are free to download and play right now

Hundreds of hours of play

You can play five GTA games for free, right now. If you're a member of GTA+ you can grab these five games and experience hundreds of hours of brilliant, crime spree fun.

GTA+ is a monthly membership that costs around £4.99 per month and offers players a huge amount of rewards, including a rotating selection of Rockstar Games' GTA games. Alongside these games subscribers can get free cars, free clothing and a bundle of free in-game money, all for GTA Online.

GTA Online is hugely popular and players can get more from it with GTA+

The current selection of games features five individual stories set across several decades:

  • Grand Theft Auto III - the very first 3D GTA adventure
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - relive the neon-soaked 1980s
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - the GTA masterpiece
  • Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories - Shorter and more streamlined adventure
  • Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - perfect for touchscreen capers

Both Liberty City Stories and Chinatown Wars were designed with mobile and handheld gaming in mind. This offer from GTA+ allows you to play both games on Android or iOS.

With these five games, you get a glimpse at the history of the successful franchise, seeing where it originated in 3D, and passing through to handheld experiences that were equally as good as the mainline console releases. Each game offers something unique, but San Andreas is known as the series' high point for many.

For those wanting to get a taste of what might be coming in GTA 6, Vice City is well worth a visit. While the next GTA isn't supposed to be set in the heady 1980s, it does reportedly take place in the Miami-inspired Vice City, so there may be some overlap of points of interest, or even throw backs to old missions.
