Black Ops 2 Zombies returns with new maps and modes

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Zombies returns with new maps and modes breathing new life into the shooter.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Zombies returns with new maps and modes breathing new life into the cult-classic shooter.

For many, 2012s Black Ops II is the absolute pinnacle of the Call of Duty franchise. The Treyarch shooter had a gripping campaign from start to finish, an epic Zombies co-op mode that would keep you and your friends entertained for hours on end, not to mention a fun competitive multiplayer mode.

Yet, despite how much Black Ops II is held in high regard by the Call of Duty community, after more than 10 years since its initial release, you’d be forgiven in thinking that the possibility of new content has long passed. Well, that’s certainly not the case, as fans can now immerse themselves once more in new Zombies maps and modes.

As reported by GGRecon, a talented modder has breathed new life into the undead Black Ops II mode. The modder in question is named Jbleezy and they have created Black Ops II Reimagined. This awesome mod has not only restored maps and modes that were cut from Black Ops II but going the extra mile, Jlbeezy has also improved its visuals.

Some of the new modes include an alternative take on Search and Destroy, only this version has been infested with zombies. Other modes include an equivalent of Hardpoint, a first player to 500 kills mode, as well as a survival mode that consists of holding mouldy meat that Zombies will be attracted to.

Sadly with this being a mod, Black Ops II Reimagined is only available on PC. However, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is available on PS3 and Xbox 360. What’s more, it’s also backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series X|S.

In recent players, players believe that excessive microtransactions costs are killing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
