Bully Unreal Engine 5 remake is so good I want to cry

One fan has envisaged a Bully remake in Unreal Engine 5 and the results are incredible.

Rockstar Games is extremely busy beavering away on Grand Theft Auto VI, so you can understand why a Bully successor isn’t really a focus right now.

As incredible as Bully was, it didn’t quite reach the same stratospheric levels of success as the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises. You need only look at the palpable hype building around GTA VI. It’s believed that the game could finally be teased in the next week with a full trailer landing in December. This news comes courtesy of Bloomberg which is about as legitimate as leaks can get. Beyond GTA VI, we have no idea what’s next. It certainly makes sense for Rockstar to revisit Red Dead but fans are also itching to see a Bully sequel. In the meantime, one fan has created a stunning Unreal Engine 5 remake concept of the original game.

Take a look at some Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

You can always rely on fans to deliver the goods. The Unreal Engine 5 remake project comes courtesy of popular YouTuber TeaserPlay who, as you may know, is a bit of a pro at these things. Explaining the project, TeaserPlay wrote, “In this video, we are going to imagine [a] Bully remake, a great nostalgic game that we need now in next-gen graphics. We tried to use all the power and features of Unreal Engine 5 to recreate this such as Lumen, Nanite, Ray Tracing and Metahuman to create Jimmy Hopkins and Dr Crabblesnitch’s faces. Unreal Engine 5 is [a] powerful engine.”

Fans flocked to the comments. “The Bully franchise deserves more sequels and attention. Wow, what a masterpiece,” said one, while another added, “Yes please. I definitely love this game. Only oldies understand how fun this game is at this point.” One comment read, “This is the closest we’ll get to experiencing Bully 2 or the next-gen Bully remake.” Take a look at the project in action below.

Will a Bully sequel or remake ever manifest? Well, stranger things have certainly happened. That being said, as much as I hate to say so, I really don’t think it’s going to be Rockstar’s number one priority for quite some time - if ever.
