Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II fully released on PC and consoles last week, and despite there being loads of love for the game shared online, it’s seemingly not been smooth sailing for everyone. PC Gamer reports that one Reddit user paid a visit to an Activision office in Texas to “speak with an employee” over what they believed was a “wrongful” ban.
According to the user’s now-deleted Reddit post, they were first banned on release day (28 October), and then upon making a new account and buying the game again on Steam, were swiftly banned again on 29 October.

"Today (10/31) I decided to go to the nearby Activision office in Austin, TX to attempt to speak with an employee due to the fact that it is impossible to speak to someone over the phone,” they wrote (via PC Gamer). “I was met by a security guard in the parking lot at Activision who told me that I would not be able to speak with anybody.”

Although a number of other Reddit users were supportive of this user’s efforts, many have expressed why this behaviour really shouldn’t be encouraged. On Twitter, Jacob Garcia, associate producer at Aspyr, said: “These employees are getting like $15/hr and still can't afford the rent they split with three other people. Please don't visit gamedevs in their offices. It doesn't help and we fear for our safety.”
“That’s honestly terrifying what the f**k lmao,” tweeted Corsair’s social media manager, @GoodMorniiing. “Was my worst fear while working in support, that people would just show up at our building for stuff like this or with worse intentions.”
“We had threats all the time,” added @_TechJess. “Blizzard campus had a guy at our gate threatening to kill employees.”
In this particular instance, it sounds like the situation was far less severe, as the Reddit user was apparently just turned away after being told by the security guard that “it will take a few weeks for the wrongful bans to be resolved”.
