Dune: Part 2 releases first trailer, and it looks incredible

Dune: Part Two has received its long-awaited full trailer, and it looks absolutely incredible.

Released in 2021 and directed by Denis Villeneuve, the sequel was originally intended to release in October this year, before it suffered a small delay. Based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert, Dune was met with instant critical success and praised for its mysterious storytelling of corruption and conspiracy, as well as being a visually stunning pleaser for the eye.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Dune was also well received from all corners of the community, garnering scores of 83% from critics and an even more impressive 90% from the audience. So to say that Dune: Part Two is a highly anticipated sequel, would be an understatement, to say the least.

The first trailer has now arrived. Take a look below.

Back in April 2023, we were treated to our first brief tease of the sequel. Not only was it enough to get fans excited, but it also gave us a glimpse of a new villain. The synopsis of Dune: Part Two reads: “This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavours to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Dune had a star-studded cast featuring the likes of Jason Momoa, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Javier Bardem and more. Many of those familiar faces will return, but they will now be joined by Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Austin Butler and Lea Seydoux.

Now that the full trailer for the sequel has been released, we’re even more excited for Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two which will be released in cinemas worldwide on 3 November, 2023.
